This is not a remote role. Applicants must be able to report to work on time as scheduled.  

 

Position: Medical Receptionist  

Location: Honolulu, HI

Pay: This position has a fixed rate of $20/hour 

Experience: 1 to 2 years of experience in a medical office or clinic setting preferred.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Certification as a Medical Assistant is a plus but not required

Type: Part-time; Contract  

Schedule: 3 Days a week, 24 hours a week

  

Kahu Malama Nurses is seeking a Medical Receptionist to join a growing and dynamic team!   

  

Job Description:  

  1. Greet and check in patients in a warm, professional manner.
  2. Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and route messages appropriately.
  3. Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
  4. Maintain patient records and update demographic information.
  5. Handle insurance verification and collect co-pays or outstanding balances.
  6. Manage correspondence, faxing, and scanning of medical documents.
  7. Support clinic staff with administrative needs.
  8. Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA rules and regulations.
  9. Prepare examination rooms and ensure cleanliness and readiness.
  10. Ensure proper documentation in electronic medical records (EMR).
  11. Occasionally take and record vital signs (blood pressure, weight).
  12. Perform other related duties as directed or required.

 

Position Requirements:    

  1. Familiarity with EMR systems and practice management software.
  2. Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  3. Basic knowledge of medical terminology and insurance practices.
  4. Ability to work effectively as a team member.
  5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
